Jacksonville University gives basketball coach extension

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville University basketball coach Hugh Durham signed a one-year contract extension Tuesday.

Durham, who is also the school's athletic director, is signed through the 2007 season.

Durham, 77-88 in six seasons at Jacksonville, also coached 12 years at Florida State and 17 years at Georgia. He led the Seminoles to the national finals in 1972 and coached Georgia to the Final Four in 1983.

Last season, Durham, who has a career record of 604-401 in 35 seasons, became just the 32nd Division I coach to reach 600 victories.
