Seattle to two play games in October at Key Arena
SEATTLE -- The SuperSonics will play an eight-game exhibition season, starting with Houston on Wednesday night, Oct. 8, and ending with Golden State on Wednesday night, Oct. 22, the team announced Thursday.
The Houston and Golden State games are both at Key Arena, and start at 7 p.m.
The Sonics will play an exhibition at the Spokane Arena against Portland on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m.
In their other exhibitions, the Sonics will face Houston on Friday, Oct. 10, at 5:30 p.m. at Little Rock, Ark.; Utah on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 6 p.m. at Salt Lake City; Portland on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. at Redmond, Ore.; Golden State on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. at Reno, Nev., and Sacramento on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. at Sacramento.
The Sonics missed the playoffs with a 40-42 record last season, when they traded Gary Payton to Milwaukee for Ray Allen in February. It was their first losing season since the 1986-87 season.
