Arkansas State team dons pads for first time
JONESBORO, Ark. -- Arkansas State went through its first football practice in shoulder pads Friday evening.
Coach Steve Roberts said afterward he was still happy with what he is seeing on the practice field.
"The intensity is awesome," Roberts said. "Everyone is a little antsy to show what they can do and show what they've learned. I'd rather have them that way than prod them along."
After completing two days of drills in shorts only, the Indians will have two days of workouts in shoulder pads before going to full pads on Sunday. A scrimmage is planned for the Sunday workout.
