Raptors sign Rick Brunson and George Williams
TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors signed free agent guard Rick Brunson and forward George Williams on Wednesday.
Brunson averaged 3.5 points in 17 game with Chicago last season. The 31-year-old Brunson is a seven-year NBA veteran who has also played with Portland, New York and Boston.
"Rick will provide us with solid defensive play and insurance in our backcourt," Toronto general manager Glen Grunwald said.
Williams averaged 7.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in six outings as the Raptors' recent entry in the Los Angeles Pro Summer League. He spent last season with the Roanoke Dazzle of the NBDL, where he averaged 3.5 points and 2.6 rebounds in 48 games.
"George played well for us on our summer league team and we look forward to him joining us at training camp," Grunwald said.
