Timberwolves will play preseason game in Omaha

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Timberwolves will host a preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks in Omaha, Neb.

Billed as the U.S. Bank Classic, the Oct. 13 game will be presented by U.S. Bank Nebraska.

Two games at Target Center are included in the Timberwolves' eight-game exhibition schedule. After opening against the Milwaukee Bucks in Columbus, Ohio, on Oct. 9, the Wolves travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks on Oct. 11.

After facing the Toronto Raptors (Oct. 15) at a site to be determined, Minnesota will travel to Indianapolis to play the Pacers on Oct. 17. They also play the Boston Celtics in Boston on Oct. 22.

The Wolves, entering their 15th season of NBA competition, open the 2003-04 season at home Oct. 20 against the Bucks. The Wolves will also face the Pacers at the Target Center on Oct. 23.
