FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- A 56-yard run for a touchdown by Cedric Cobbs was the highlight of a scrimmage during Arkansas' second practice on Saturday.

"Cedric looked good," coach Houston Nutt said. "He's in good shape. He hit the hole, but there was a nice hole there (opened up) by Shawn (Andrews), Mark Bokermann, Jerry Reith and Jared Hicks. They had a lot to do with it."

Nutt also saw several other things to be pleased about, even with a few players missing the scrimmage with minor injuries.

"We know we have a long way to go, but we're in pretty good shape," Nutt said. "We're running around good and we're throwing everything at them."

Cobbs' touchdown was one of two during the scrimmage. Quarterbacks Matt Jones and Ryan Sorahan were limited to eight to 10 plays each, but Sorahan hit Kyle Dickerson for an eight-yard score.

Nutt said guard Tony Ugoh had an excellent day, and Brandon Kennedy stepped up when fullback Mark Pierce was hurt.

Pierce, defensive end Brandon Holmes, linebacker Jimarr Gallon, strong safety John Jackson and defensive tackle Chase Pressley were among the players who missed the scrimmage with minor injuries.
