Former UCLA F Patterson transfers to Tennessee
KNOXVILLE, Tennessee -- Tennessee got a jump on the 2004-05 season when former UCLA forward Andre Patterson enrolled at the school.
In 24 games last season, Patterson started 21 times and averaged 7.5 points per game. The 6-7, 197-pound forward led the Bruins by pulling down 5.5 rebounds per contest.
"We are delighted that Andre chose to be a part of our program," Tennessee coach Buzz Peterson said. "The success that Jemere (Hendrix) and Scooter (McFadgon) had in the classroom while sitting out last year as transfers really encouraged us to take someone like Andre."
Like Hendrix and McFadgon last season, Patterson will have to sit out a year due to NCAA transfer rules before he can take the court with the Volunteers.
