INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Pacers signed second-round draft pick James Jones on Thursday.

Terms were not released.

Jones, a 6-foot-8, 225-pound guard, was the 49th overall pick in the draft and Indiana's only selection in the draft.

Jones played four years at Miami, ranking third for blocked shots (192) and games played (122). He started all 28 games last year, averaging 16.9 points and 6.0 rebounds.

He also showed a deft touch from the outside, making 40 percent of his 3-point attempts last year, and has the Pacers hoping he can make the transition to shooting guard.
