Kretschmer, Dahl, Cordova, LaGrone named Nevada co-captains
RENO, Nev. -- The Nevada Wolf Pack goes into Saturday's football opener with four captains at the helm.
Running back Chance Kretschmer and right tackle Harvey Dahl will serve the role on offense while end Jorge Cordova and linebacker Carl LaGrone were elected on defense. The captains were chosen by their teammates.
Cordova, the reigning Western Athletic Conference sack king, also served as a captain last year. He was chosen by the WAC media as the conferences preseason defensive player of the year. The other three are in their first year in the role of captain.
"Four great choices," Wolf Pack coach Chris Tormey said. "There were a number of outstanding candidates, but I thought the team did a great job of picking the four they did."
