OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Golden State Warriors signed free agent swingman Calbert Cheaney on Wednesday, adding another veteran to what had been one of the NBA's younger teams.

Cheaney has spent 10 seasons in the league, averaging 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists during stops in Washington, Boston, Denver and Utah. Last year he played 81 games with the Jazz and averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

Terms of the deal were not announced.

"Calbert adds more depth to our squad and is another player who can play two positions, shooting guard and small forward," Warriors general manager Garry St. Jean said.

In recent weeks, the Warriors have also traded for or signed veterans Speedy Claxton, Nick Van Exel and Clifford Robinson.
