Marshall football coach Pruett signs extension through 2010
HUNTINGTON, West Virginia - Bob Pruett, who owns the best winning percentage among active Division I-A coaches, signed a contract extension through 2010 with Marshall on Thursday.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
"I am extremely excited about the new contract that connects me to Marshall to end of the decade," Pruett said.
In seven seasons at Marshall, Pruett has posted an impressive 80-13 record (.860 winning percentage) and guided the Thundering Herd to five Mid-American Conference championships and six consecutive bowl appearances.
"Coach Pruett's contributions go far beyond just representing a high-quality football program," Marshall athletic director Bob Marcum said.
Pruett's program also has produced numerous NFL players, including star receiver Randy Moss and quarterback Chad Pennington.
