CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Andre Raymond rushed for two touchdowns and 110 yards as Eastern Illinois shut out California University of Pennsylvania on Saturday.
Raymond also caught three passes for 49 yards in the game, the season opener for both teams. He scored on runs of nine and 13 yards in the second and fourth quarters.
Steve Kuehn kicked two field goals of 23 and 30 yards, and tight end Nick Eller caught a 23-yard scoring pass to round out the Panther scoring.
Eastern quarterback Andy Vincent completed 15 of 21 passes for 160 yards.
The Panther defense held the visiting Vulcans to just one first down, which came with just under four minutes left in the game. George Love intercepted two passes for Eastern.
California had 61 yards total offense.
