Penguins re-sign LW Abid

Abid appeared in just three games with the Penguins and went scoreless with two penalty minutes.
The 23-year-old Abid played in 30 games with Phoenix last season, collecting 18 points and 30 penalty minutes. He also had 15 goals and 10 assists with 50 penalty minutes in 27 contests with Springfield of the American Hockey League.
A native of Montreal, Abid ranked among the NHL rookies with 10 goals, four power-play goals and three game-winning tallies. He was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the third round of the 2000 draft.
