Full house for McNeese-Southeastern game
HAMMOND, La.-- Saturday's McNeese State at Southeastern Louisiana game is a sellout.
The capacity for Strawberry Stadium in Hammond is 9,708, and most of those seats were sold in a season-ticket drive. McNeese received an allotment of 500 tickets, which went on sale Monday. They sold out by Tuesday afternoon, McNeese Sports Information Director Louis Bonnette said.
SLU has sold out all three of its home games this season, its first in 18 years since reviving the sport.
It will be the smallest crowd to see McNeese play so far this season, but also the first sellout. McNeese has averaged 16,072 fans in two home games, played in front of 17,485 at Grambling State and 44,544 at Kansas State.
SLU's stadium is the smallest Division I stadium in Louisiana. McNeese will play in one stadium that's smaller, 8,500-seat Eccles Coliseum at Southern Utah.
