George Mason suspends six basketball players
FAIRFAX, Virginia - Six members of the George Mason men's and women's basketball teams have been suspended for violation of team and athletic department policies, the school announced Thursday.
On the women's side, senior forward Lesley Harvey and junior guard Lauren Hediger were suspended four games, and sophomore guard Jen Daniels and freshman guard A.J. Farrar each will sit out an exhibition contest.
"We have had separate incidents that have resulted in conduct that is unacceptable," George Mason athletic director Tom O'Connor said. "As a department, we have taken appropriate action according to our student-athlete code of conduct.
"It is our hope that these individuals understand the role they play and their responsibility to George Mason," O'Connor added.
