Two men, four women suspended
FAIRFAX, Va. -- Two members of George Mason's men's basketball team and four members of the women's team were suspended for one to four games for violating team and athletic department rules.
"We have had separate incidents that have resulted in conduct that is unacceptable," athletic director Tom O'Connor said Thursday. "... It is our hope that these individuals understand the role they play and their responsibility to George Mason."
The school had no further comment, assistant sports information director Carlton White said.
Two members of the women's team, senior Lesley Harvey and junior Lauren Hediger, were suspended for the first four games. Freshman A.J. Farrar and sophomore Jen Daniels will miss the Nov. 17 exhibition game against the NWBL Elite Team.
