Dolphins OT Dixon undergoes ankle surgery
DAVIE, Florida - Mark Dixon's injury woes continued Friday as he had surgery on his ailing right ankle.
Dixon had the ankle "cleaned out," according to Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt. After undergoing the same procedure in August, Dixon missed Miami's first three games of the season.
A six-year veteran, Dixon has been sidelined with injuries for 13 of the Dolphins' last 35 regular-season games. He will miss Sunday's game against the New York Giants, but the Dolphins hope he will be able to return this season.
Miami did get some positive news on the injury front. Brian Griese will suit up as the Dolphins' third quarterback Sunday after missing the entire season to this point with an injured toe.
