MARTIN, Tenn. -- Brady Wahlberg scrambled for a 21-yard touchdown on the second play of overtime as Tennessee-Martin overcame a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Tennessee Tech 30-23 on Saturday.
The victory snapped a 43-game conference losing streak by Tennessee-Martin (2-4, 1-1 Ohio Valley Conference) dating back to the final game of the 1996 season.
Tennessee Tech (2-3, 1-1) opened a 23-7 lead with two touchdowns by Derek White, who finished with 212 yards rushing on 12 carries including an 87-yard TD.
But Tennessee-Martin struck twice in the final six minutes to tie the game.
The first came on an 18-play, 88-yard drive capped by a 1-yard TD run by Andrew Staten.
After three plays and a punt by Tennessee Tech, Wahlberg drove the Skyhawks 72 yards, finding Orentheus Taylor for a 2-yard TD catch with 29 seconds left.
In Tennessee Tech's overtime possession, defensive end Andre Plummer sacked Darrius Mohn twice, and the Golden Eagles' Hail Mary attempt landed out of the end zone.
