Texas A&M-Kingsville 29, Midwestern St. 23
WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Larry Williams rushed for 184 yards and scored the winning touchdown on a 2-yard run as Texas A&M-Kingsville rallied to beat Midwestern State 29-23 Saturday night.
Williams' score with 2:35 remaining finished a nine-play, 80-yard drive for A&M-Kingsville (3-1, 1-0 Lone Star). He also scored on a 6-yard run in the first quarter, and Daniel Taylor threw a 14-yard TD pass in the second to help Texas A&M-Kingsville erase an early 10-0 deficit.
Jerry Holstrom's 22-yard field goal gave Midwestern State (3-2, 0-1) a 23-21 lead with 6:53 left.
Daniel Taylor put A&M-Kingsville ahead 21-20 late in the third with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Clay Woodard. Taylor completed 14 of 17 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns.
Midwestern State led 17-14 at halftime on 1-yard TD runs from Boggs and Jerrold Fuqua.
Midwestern State's Phillip Boggs was 16-of-25 passing for 214 yards and also rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown.
