SAN ANGELO, Texas -- Kyle Hardin threw three touchdown passes and Angelo State stopped West Texas A&M on the 22-yard line as time expired for a 20-19 victory Saturday night.
With seconds remaining, West Texas A&M's Derek Maupin completed a 35-yard yard pass to Canelius Jackson, but Jackson was tackled as time expired.
Hardin's 51-yard touchdown pass to Travis House gave Angelo State (2-3, 1-0 Lone Star) a 20-19 lead with 3:19 remaining in the third quarter.
Aubrey Lacy led West Texas A&M (1-4, 0-1) with 103 yards rushing. Maupin was 25-of-43 passing for 208 yards and a touchdown.
Maupin's 7-yard TD pass to Cheyenne Smith gave the Buffaloes a 19-14 advantage midway through the third quarter.
Hardin passed for 190 yards and rushed for a team-high 70 yards. He threw a 42-yard TD pass in the first quarter to Luke Harrison and hit House on an 8-yard score to put Angelo State ahead 14-13 at halftime.
House had four receptions for 75 yards.
