Southern's Richard, Tech's Crow are Players of the Week
RUSTON, La. -- Southern University quarterback Quincy Richard and Louisiana Tech linebacker Antonio Crow were named players of the week by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association on Monday.
Richard completed 14 of 16 passes for 255 yards and a career high four touchdowns in the Jaguars' 53-7 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday. The senior also led Southern in rushing with 78 yards on six carries and two touchdowns. He is the first Southern player to win an LSWA Player of the Week award this season.
Crow, a senior, had a team-high 13 tackles, including nine solo stops, in the Bulldogs' 43-37 loss to Boise State. Crow also recorded one tackle for loss and recovered a fumble late in the fourth quarter.
LSWA players of the week are chosen by a panel of voters across the state. The players are nominated by the sports information directors at the football playing institutions in Louisiana.
