Frontier Conference names players of week
BUTTE -- Montana-Western has two of the three Frontier Conference football players of the week.
Bulldog running back Josh Shrum is the week's offensive pick after scoring four touchdowns, including a 95-yard kickoff return, in Western's 55-31 victory over Rocky Mountain College. Shrum, a junior from Mountain Home, Idaho, rushed for 75 yards, caught for 14 and piled up more than 200 offensive yards in the game.
Teammate Eric Zahler is the special teams player of the week after making four punts for 222 yards. Zahler, a junior from Yakima, Wash., also kicked off 11 times and put nine of those into Rocky's end zone.
The week's defensive honors go to Carroll College defensive back Regan Mack who had eight solo tackles and one interception he returned 77 yards for a touchdown in the Fighting Saints' 58-17 defeat of Montana State-Northern. Mack, an Emigrant sophomore, also returned five punts for 111 yards.
