Bears LB Holdman to miss two weeks with sprained ankle
LAKE FOREST, Illinois - Chicago Bears weakside linebacker Warrick Holdman, the club's leading tackler, is expected to be sidelined two weeks with a sprained left ankle.
Holdman was injured the first half of Sunday's 24-21 victory over the Oakland Raiders. He registered 10 tackles prior to getting hurt.
While middle linebacker Brian Urlacher grabs all the attention on the Chicago defense, Holdman is leading the Bears with 37 tackles through the first four games.
With Holdman sidelined, rookie Joe Odom could slide into the starting role for the Bears' next two games against against New Orleans and Seattle.
Losing Holdman is a blow for the Bears, who rank last in the NFL in scoring defense at 33.0 points per game.
