St. Francis, Ind. 47, Butler 16

INDIANAPOLIS -- Luther Stroder scored the game's first three touchdowns and Mike Ledo rushed for 189 yards as undefeated St. Francis, Ind., beat winless Butler 47-16 on Saturday.

The Cougars (5-0) took a 19-0 lead early in the second quarter after Stroder scored on touchdown runs of 3 and 4 yards and caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from Chris Bramell. St. Francis failed to score on two of three point-after attempts.

Ledo, who averaged 12.6 yards on 15 carries, scored on a 35-yard touchdown run with 6:21 left in the second quarter. Another rushing touchdown early in the third quarter put the Cougars up 33-0.

The Bulldogs (0-6) opened scoring with 41 seconds left in the third quarter on Dan Emmert's interception and 15-yard return for a touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, St. Francis scored twice on passes of 28- and 16 yards, and Butler closed out scoring with a safety and a 5-yard touchdown run by Brian Holthaus.

The Bulldogs were outgained 616 total yards to 221. Bramell completed 11 of 16 passes for 137 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions. Stroder finished with 54 receiving yards and 46 rushing yards.

Butler's Bob Farmer completed 10 of 19 passes for 132 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
