SAN ANTONIO -- Dan DesPlaines threw for two touchdowns and the defense added another score as Trinity University beat Washington University 21-7 Saturday.
Trinity (5-1) led 14-7 in the fourth quarter when DesPlaines found Austin Kremens on a 10-yard touchdown pass with less than three minutes remaining for the final score.
DesPlaines' first TD throw came just one minute into the game on a 26-yard pass to Jason Mendivil.
Defensive lineman Jarrod Smith returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. He also had three sacks for a total loss of 16 yards.
Trinity's Ray Valencia led all rushers with 105 yards on 22 carries.
Washington's (2-4) only score came on quarterback Matt Alley's 7-yard pass to Brad Duesing in the third quarter. Duesing had nine catches for 104 yards.
