Midwestern St. 48, W. Texas A&M 13
CANYON, Texas -- Phillip Boggs threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as Midwestern State beat West Texas A&M 48-13 on Saturday.
Midwestern State (4-2, 1-1 Lone Star Conference) piled on 41 points and 346 yards of offense and held West Texas A&M (1-5, 0-3) scoreless in the first half.
Boggs went 10-of-15 for 150 yards. He found Andre Kelsick on a 5-yard pass in the first quarter and hit Terrance Moore for a 50-yard score in the second.
The defense got in on the scoring when Midwestern's Chris Risby returned a blocked punt 18 yards for a score. Midwestern's Keven Taulton had 11 tackles, including five solo.
Derek Maupin was 40-of-57 for 224 yards and Canelius Jackson had 13 catches for 97 yards.
West Texas A&M scored all of its points in the second half with two field goals by Jacob Felton and a rushing TD by Jeron Curtis.
