ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Valdosta State's special teams produced two touchdowns and the Blazers held off a 14-point fourth-quarter comeback to beat Arkansas-Monticello 31-28 Saturday.
The Blazers scored 24 unanswered points in the first half, starting with a blocked punt return for 5 yards by WesleyBrown. Aaron Jenkins then returned a punt 56 yards to score early in the second quarter.
The Boll Weevils were led by Cory Allred, who was 29-of-54 for 374 yards, throwing three TD passes and rushing for another.
Barrett Wilkes was 23-of-38 for 216 yards with three interceptions. Robinson's only throw was the fourth-quarter TD pass. Jenkins led in rushing, with 86 yards on 21 carries.
