Redskins put TE Royal on IR, re-sign Flemister
Royal broke a hip bone in Sunday's 35-13 loss to Tampa Bay and is out for the season. He had started all six games, catching five passes for 48 yards.
Royal missed his entire rookie season last year after spraining his ankle in an exhibition game.
Flemister lost his starting job to Royal last month when he was sidelined with a hamstring injury. After Flemister recovered, he was released when free-agent tight end Byron Chamberlain was signed last week. Flemister was then signed and released by Cleveland within the last seven days.
The Redskins have made eight roster moves involving tight ends since the start of the season, including twice promoting and demoting practice squad player Kevin Ware while Flemister was injured.
