HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- The New York Jets signed cornerback Ray Green and safety David Young, and waived defensive tackle Alan Harper and cornerback Leonard Myers on Wednesday.

With safety Jon McGraw and cornerback Donnie Abraham out with shoulder injuries, and reserve corner Jamie Henderson questionable with a sprained knee, the Jets needed to sign secondary help. Green, a fourth-year player out of South Carolina, has played for Carolina, Miami and the New York Giants.

He was waived last week by the Giants.

Young was picked in the sixth round of the draft by Jacksonville but was waived at the end of training camp and then signed with the Cleveland Browns practice squad.

Myers played last week against Buffalo but hurt his shoulder and would not be able to go for a few weeks, so the Jets cut him because they need immediate help.

The Jets also signed cornerback Omare Lowe to the practice squad and released running back Keith Burnell from the practice squad.
