Lions sign punter Nick Harris
ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Punter Nick Harris was signed by Detroit on Wednesday, a week after he was waived by Cincinnati.
The Lions are expected to use Harris Sunday at home against Dallas in place of John Jett, who has been sidelined with a calf injury.
The Bengals cut Harris, who was then ranked last in the AFC with a 30-yard net average per punt. His 29-yard punt into the wind in overtime on Oct. 5 set up Buffalo's winning touchdown drive for a 22-16 victory.
Cincinnati claimed Harris off waivers from Denver before the 2001 season. He averaged 40.1 yards per punt in each of his first two seasons in Cincinnati.
