Bengals waive Hamilton, promote Walter
CINCINNATI -- The Bengals changed backup receivers Thursday, waiving Lawrence Hamilton and signing Kevin Walter off the practice squad.
Hamilton, a rookie from Stephen F. Austin, opened training camp with Arizona and was claimed off waivers by the Bengals on Aug. 6. He appeared in all five games this season, but didn't have a catch.
Walter, a rookie from Eastern Michigan, agreed to a three-year contract Thursday. The New York Giants took him in the seventh round of the draft and the Bengals claimed him off waivers Aug. 26. He was let go in the team's final cut and was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 1.
