COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- Paul Gans tied a school record with four interceptions to help St. John's crush Augsburg 63-9 Saturday.
St. John's John Gagliardi got his 406th career victory and helped the Johnnies win their 500th game in school history. The Johnnies, ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division III, are still undefeated at 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the MIAC.
Johnnie Blake Elliot moved into fourth place, surpassing Jerry Rice, on the NCAA career rushing touchdown receptions list with 51. Elliot finished with 121 yards receiving.
Tony George threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jamie Smith early in the third quarter for Augsburg's lone touchdown of the game. The Auggies are now 3-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Ryan Keating threw three touchdowns, including two to Elliot, and finished with 266 yards passing.
