ST. PAUL, Minn. -- James McNear passed for three touchdowns and rushed for two to lead Concordia, St. Paul past Northern State 59-52 Saturday.
The score was tied 52-52 with five minutes to play in the fourth quarter when Chris Washington scored the winning touchdown on a 1-yard run. Washington ran 25 times for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
The Golden Bears are now 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC.
Toby Korrodi finished with 502 yards passing on 31 completions for the Wolves (6-1, 5-0). He threw four touchdown passes, all to Charlie Johnston.
Concordia scored 24 points in the first quarter and none in the second to fall behind 29-24 at halftime. But 22 points in the third, and 13 in the fourth helped the Golden Bears outlast the Wolves.
Both teams finished with more than 600 offensive yards. Concordia had 623 while Northern State had 618.
