PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- Grambling State quarterback Bruce Eugene was 21-of-40 for 297 yards and three touchdowns as Grambling State beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 41-16 Saturday night.
The Tigers (5-2, 4-0) racked up 519 yards of total offense and scored 17 unanswered points in the third quarter.
Grambling blew the game open with two touchdowns scored in a span of about a minute. The Tigers covered 71 yards in 10 plays and finished the march with a 9-yard TD toss to Tramon Douglas, who had two TD catches and 60 yards receiving. The point after gave the Tigers a 27-10 lead with 2:21 to go in the third quarter.
On the first play of Arkansas-Pine Bluff's next possession, a pass was picked off by Grambling defensive back Travis Massey at the UAPB 36-yard line. Massey weaved his way down to the Golden Lion 2-yard line. Two plays later, running back Michael ORee dived in from two yards out. The extra point made it 33-10.
