Running back leaves with ankle injury

ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Rams running back Lamar Gordon aggravated a left ankle injury in the first half of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers and was taken for X-rays.

Gordon, the backup to the injured Marshall Faulk, had 20 yards on four carries. He has been bothered more in recent weeks by a sprained left wrist.

Gordon, a second-year player, was a third-round draft pick from North Dakota State.

The injury left the Rams with third-stringer Arlen Harris, signed as an undrafted free agent, at running back.

Faulk is recovering from a broken left hand and arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and is expected back in a week or two.
