Cowboys sign Carson and cut McGee
DETROIT -- The Dallas Cowboys signed defensive tackle Leonardo Carson and released receiver Tony McGee.
The moves were made Saturday.
Carson, who faces kidnapping and burglary charges in Alabama, was cut by San Diego on Wednesday.
He was arrested Aug. 21 in his hometown of Mobile, Ala., for investigation of first-degree burglary and second-degree kidnapping. Carson was inactive Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
According to Mobile police, a woman told officers that Carson had forcibly entered an apartment, physically assaulted her and forced her into his vehicle. At the time, he was on leave from the Charges to attend his grandmother's funeral.
The Cowboys signed McGee on Oct. 7 after releasing him during the final round of cuts before the season. McGee, who did not catch a pass this season, has 322 career receptions for 4,089 yards and 21 TDs.
