Hawthrone wins weekly defensive honors for Wolf Pack

DENVER -- Nevada cornerback Nick Hawthrone has been named the Western Athletic Conference defensive player of the week following the Wolf Pack's 28-21 victory over Tulsa.
The freshman from Sacramento recorded a game high 10 tackles, forced a fumble and returned an interception 37 yards.
He was joined in the weekly honors on Monday by Boise State quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie on offense and Rice punter Jared Scruggs on special teams.
