Reserve TE out after tearing knee ligament
KIRKLAND, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks reserve tight end Ryan Hannam needs surgery and will miss the rest of the season after tearing a ligament in his right knee.
Hannam, a second-year player from Northern Iowa, was hurt early in the first quarter of Sunday's 24-17 win over the Chicago Bears.
Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren said doctors plan to operate on Hannam in a few weeks after swelling subsides. The injury and recovery will keep him sidelined six to eight months.
