Mesa, Colo. 28, Fort Hays St. 6

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Jeff Mowry ran for three second-quarter touchdowns to lead Mesa State to a 28-6 win over Fort Hays State on Saturday.

Mowry scored on runs of 11, 6 and 3 yards for Mesa State (7-1, 5-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference). He gained 82 yards on 22 carries.

Mowry was 1-of-10 passing with two interceptions for 35 yards.

Joe Krile capped the scoring for Mesa State in the fourth quarter with a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The kickoff came after Beau Rebel scored Fort Hays' only TD on a 17-yard reception from Reed Gottula. The point-after attempt failed.

Jeremy Rusco gained 64 yards on 11 carries for Fort Hays (4-4, 3-2).

Gottula was 4-of-19 passing with two interceptions for 42 yards and a touchdown. Josh Todd was 2-of-10 for 15 yards.
