Chadron St. 23, Western St., Colo. 22
GUNNISON, Colo. -- Beau Sheets scored a late touchdown Saturday to give Chadron State a 23-22 win over Western State.
Chadron State (6-2, 4-2 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) trailed 22-17 in the fourth quarter when Shawn Eisenreich connected with Sheets on a 15-yard pass for the go-ahead score. The two-point conversion attempt failed.
Chaumont Bouknight carried the ball 47 times for 266 yards and two touchdowns for Western State (4-4). The 47 carries set a school record and gave him 1,204 yards on the season, second in school history.
Eisenreich completed 14 of 36 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns. He was intercepted twice. Bryce Flammang caught seven passes for 139 yards.
Nate Baca completed 6 of 15 attempts with three interceptions for Western State.
