FOXBORO, Mass. -- Cleveland running back William Green missed Sunday's game against the New England Patriots with a shoulder injury.

Green, the fifth-leading rusher in the AFC before the game, was replaced by James Jackson. Green was hurt in the third quarter of San Diego's 26-20 win over the Browns a week earlier after gaining 65 yards on 14 carries.

In his previous two games, the second-year pro from Boston College rushed for 115 and 145 yards.

Another former BC running back, Mike Cloud, was among the Patriots' inactive players. He played the previous three games, the last two while Antowain Smith was inactive. But Smith returned Sunday, joining Kevin Faulk as the team's two active running backs.
