Carroll, Tech share honors
BUTTE -- Carroll College and Montana Tech share weekly player-of-the-week football honors in the Frontier Conference.
Carroll quarterback Tyler Emmert was named offensive player, and Tech's Matt Stepan won the defensive award.
The special teams award went to Carroll defensive back Regan Mack.
Emmert, a 6-foot-2, 195 pound sophomore from Helena, completed 26 of 33 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions as Carroll defeated Eastern Oregon 59-7. He carried eight times for 45 yards and one TD, piling up 343 yards in total offense.
Stepan, a 6-2, 235-pound senior from Butte, made four solo tackles, assisted on two more, including two sacks and two for losses, as Tech thumped Montana State-Northern 37-16. He also returned an interception for a touchdown.
Mack, a 5-11, 195-pound sophomore from Emigrant, returned four Eastern Oregon punts for 126 yards, one of them 89 yards for a TD. He also broke up one pass play and made one solo tackle and assisted on two others.
