Bobcats' Lulay named Big Sky offensive player of the week
OGDEN, Utah -- Montana State quarterback Travis Lulay, who rushed for two touchdowns in the final 1:07 of the Bobcats' come-from-behind victory over No. 10 Northern Arizona, was named the Big Sky Conference offensive player of the week Monday.
Lulay, a sophomore from Aumsville, Ore., passed for 260 yards and added 56 yards rushing. He engineered two touchdown drives after NAU took a 17-7 lead with 2:19 remaining. Lulay scored on a 32-yard run with 1:07 remaining and, after the Bobcats recovered an onside kick, scored on a 1-yard run with 15 seconds to play. On the last two drives he rushed for 51 yards and passed for 69 yards.
The defensive player of the week is Weber State defensive end Brady Fosmark while Idaho State cornerback and running back Emery Beckles earned special teams honors.
Fosmark had an interception return for a touchdown and three sacks in Weber State's 38-21 victory over No. 17 Idaho State. Fosmark's 22-yard interception return put the Wildcats up 16-0 in the first quarter. Fosmark, a sophomore from Clearfield, Utah, added 10 total tackles and leads the Wildcats with 6.5 sacks and 41 tackles this season.
Beckles returned a punt 83 yards for a touchdown in Idaho State's loss at Weber State. His return with 1:40 remaining in the first half cut the Weber State lead to 16-6. Beckles also has 101 yards in punt returns and 100 kickoff return yards. The senior from Compton, Calif., started at both cornerback and running back, the first Bengal to start on both sides of the ball since 1963.
