METAIRIE, Louisiana - The New Orleans Saints on Tuesday suspended starting defensive tackle Grady Jackson one game for conduct detrimental to the team.

The Saints did not disclose the incident that led to Jackson's suspension, which he will serve this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

One of the Saints' best run-stoppers, the 6-2, 330-pound Jackson has collected 20 tackles and is second on the team with four sacks in seven games this season.

Jackson, 30, spent his first five years with the Oakland Raiders before signing with the Saints as a free agent in 2002.

The Saints (3-5) are in third place in the NFC South heading into Sunday's game.
