Tennessee picked to win SEC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Tennessee was picked to win its seventh straight Southeastern Conference title, beating out LSU and Georgia.

The preseason balloting was done among reporters covering the league at Wednesday's media day.

LSU's Seimone Augustus was the pick to win player of the year honors.

Augustus received 10 first-place votes to beat out Mississippi State's Tan White (4). Vanderbilt's Jenni Benningfield (3) and Georgia's Christi Thomas (2) also got multiple votes.

Augustus, White and Benningfield were joined on the preseason All-SEC team by Tennessee's Shyra Ely and Florida's Vanessa Hayden.
