Mesa, Colo. 48, Colorado Mines 18
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Charles Dukes ran for 197 yards and three touchdowns and Casey Coulter hit field goals of 46 and 48 yards as Mesa State beat Colorado Mines 48-18 on Saturday.
Dukes had a 51-yard scoring run in the second quarter and added 2- and 3-yard touchdowns in the second half for Mesa State (8-1, 6-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference).
Mesa State's Andy Rauenzahn rushed for two touchdowns and Jason Arthur scored on a 14-yard pass from Jeff Mowry. Mowry was 9-of-13 passing for 194 yards, including an 80-yard pass to Jesse Preston.
Preston finished with 127 yards on four carries.
Both Coulter's field goals game in the second quarter, the 48-yarder as time ran out.
Chad Friehauf was 8-of-20 passing for 149 yards and one interception for Mines (4-5, 2-4). Friehauf had a 45-yard touchdown pass to Johnny Chan, who finished with 109 yards on four catches.
Craig VanHorn scored on a 25-yard run and Scott Hahn had a 45-yard field goal for Mines.
