Washington RB Morton out with ankle sprain
IRVING, Texas -- Redskins running back and returner Chad Morton left Sunday's game against Dallas after spraining his right ankle in the first half.
Morton was hurt early in the second quarter after being tackled by Roy Williams on a 7-yard reception. Morton had six carries for 37 yards rushing before leaving.
Trung Candidate and Ladell Betts, Washington's top two running backs, were both inactive for the game because of injuries.
After Morton was knocked out of the game, Rock Cartwright took over at running back. He's in his second season out of Kansas State.
