Mabry becomes ninth Seattle player to declare free agency

SEATTLE -- John Mabry's $1.5 million option was declined Wednesday by the Seattle Mariners, who will give the outfielder a $250,000 buyout.

Mabry hit .212 (22-for-104) in 64 games with three homers and 16 RBIss. He was on the disabled list from May 28 to June 19 because of an injured right shoulder.

Mabry signed with Seattle last January. He also played for the Mariners in 1999 and 2000.
