UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Sandrine Gruda had 14 points and Lindsay Whalen had 11 points and seven assists Thursday night as the Connecticut Sun defeated the Seattle Storm 64-53.

Whalen became the 12th player in the WNBA history to each 900 career assists.

The Sun (12-10) won, despite shooting 38 percent (23 for 60) from the field. They held Seattle (13-10) to 30 percent shooting (17 for 56).

Lauren Jackson finished with 12 points before fouling out late in the fourth period. Jackson, who shot 3-for-16 from the field, is one point shy of 5,000 in her career.

Tanisha Wright had 13 points for Seattle.

Dream 80, Shock 75

ATLANTA -- Iziane Castro Marques scored 16 points and Erika DeSouza had 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Atlanta past Detroit.

The Dream (12-11) beat Detroit for the third time this season, ending the Shock's two-game winning streak.

Chamique Holdslaw had 14 points for Atlanta, while Sancho Lyttle added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Deanna Nolan led Detroit (9-12) with 20 points, but shot 7 of 25 from the field. Katie Smith, who fouled out late in the fourth quarter, finished with 17 points and Cheryl Ford added 15 points.

Fever 91, Lynx 81

MINNEAPOLIS -- Ebony Hoffman scored a season-high 24 points as Indiana made a fourth-quarter rally.

Trailing by six early in the fourth, the Fever went on an 18-2 run in the final minutes. Minnesota has the league's best record at 18-5.

Minnesota (11-12) fell to 2-7 in its last nine games. Candice Wiggins scored 23 points to lead the Lynx, who made 17 turnovers.

Mercury 95, Silver Stars 83

PHOENIX -- Diana Taurasi scored 29 points and Cappie Pondexter added 19 to lead the Mercury to a win over the Silver Stars.

The Silver Stars played the final three quarter without their coach Dan Hughes, who was ejected from the game with 48.3 seconds left in the first quarter after arguing with officials and getting two consecutive technical fouls.

The Mercury (17-7) used a 17-4 run in the third quarter to open up a 72-56 lead with 2:22 left in winning their fifth game in the last seven. San Antonio got within 82-77 with 4:40 remaining in the game, but Phoenix scored the next five points to secure the win.

Sophia Young scored 29 to lead the Silver Stars.
