Pairs champ Coughlin has hip surgery
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- John Coughlin, winner of this year's U.S. pairs championship with partner Caydee Denney, has had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left hip.
There is no timetable for the 27-year-old Coughlin's return.
The surgery was performed in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Marc Philippon, and Coughlin's rehabilitation will take place at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Earlier this fall, Denney and Coughlin won a silver medal at the Nebelhorn Trophy. They took bronze medals at their Grand Prix assignments, Skate America and Rostelecom Cup.
